Medieval folding balance beam 101mm. with simple loop terminals, folding to 46mm.. well made in bronze with simple decoration - probably 13-14th century

438 11 piece long set weights (Scottish?) Mahogany box with wire hinges and hook catch containing scale with steel beam with swan neck terminals, Weights are a complete set of Withers 1780, triangle, pellet & line border, value only type (11 piece set). These are not worn yet not well made - several are weakly struck in parts and a number have die cracks. There is a label referring to post 1772 Guineas - weights are given together with a value discount. The weights are possibly Scottish (when compared with the Gardner set) and all are very rare - only 5 were recorded by Withers. box 150x67x27.5mm
