W135b

The Noble weight that matches this unrecorded weight is Withers 135.  However no others seem to have been found in the last 14 years so can be considered a special issue. Withers postulated that this was made when the Rose Ryal was introduced in 1464.

Half Noble, fleur-de-lis and stylised ship both raised in shaped frames. The blank has 3 incised circles near the rim; the edge is grooved (akin to some Byzantine weights) 14.0mm. 3.23gm. Green/black patina

The date appears to be William III possibly related to the re-coinage of 1695-7. The reference to Justice is new to us on British coin weights but is a common motif on weight & scale makers labels.
