Communion Token Die

636   Two part mould for casting communion token, DUIRNESS KIRK SESSION rev. 1803 Burzinski 2095 C1848, K&L 378. Mould looks to have been made by the  local blacksmith - the metal is dark grey and quite hard but not magnetic. Included is an example of the issued token. Obverse mould has a handle on the reverse.

637   Reverse die for striking a star shaped token. THIS DO IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME 1 COR.XI 24  BUT LET A MAN EXAMINE HIMSELF. This die was used to make Lady Glenorchy’s Free Church (Edinburgh) Burzinski 4105, C3618, Die made of iron with extra stamps in side RUN  J.R  - probably a Kirkwood die. Sold with an example of B 4105 (this ex Noble Sale). Note for postage this die weighs 850gm.
