A Postal Auction of Medals post 1945

SIMMONS GALLERY

CLOSING DATE: Thursday 3 May 2007 At 12 noon BST

An important collection of European medals from 1950’s-1980’s formed by Roman Weyl The medals came mainly from the Paris Mint, the Medal Museum in Wroclaw and various other small exhibitions in the Netherlands, Poland, Austria and Germany during the Soviet era.  His preference was for the abstract.  Where possible references or notes from the collector are given.  Many of the medals are quite heavy so weights are given as a guide to postal costs.   The casts are generally all in extremely fine condition with only slight handling; however the metal used in the countries of the former Soviet Union did not contain much copper and surfaces are sometimes porous or  rough. Reserve-estimate
